Prof. Leroux receives a Samyang CRS Award in honor of Sung Wan Kim.

The Controlled Release Society's announced Samyang Award in honor of Sung Wan Kim, recognizing Prof. Jean-Christophe Leroux for his outstanding contributions during past 10 years.

This external pageaward is presented annually to mid-career scientists whose work is emblematic of Dr. Kim's pioneering research in the area of drug delivery. It recognizes a scientist with strong and promising quality of research who can address important questions and translate them into patients' lives.

Samyang Biopharm USA was established in 2018 as a subsidiary of Samyang Pharmaceuticals Corporation. It focuses on the development of biological therapeutics for oncology and rare diseases. They sponsor this award in honor of Sung Wan Kim, who was a distinguished professor in Pharmaceutical chemistry and Bioengineering at the University of Utah. His contributions to the development of biopolymers had enormous influence on successful delivery of gene therapy and anticancer drugs. He retired from academia in 2018.
